Benefit The Porefessional: Pore Your Eyes Only - Makeup and Beauty Blog
My 30s came with a few absurd perks — wisdom, Tabs and El Hub — that accept helped offset the drawbacks of getting older, merely there'south i expanse of aging I'm even so trying to offset: my pores. Compared to how they looked in my 20s, THEY'RE HUGE! They're similar Olympic swimming pools within which people could host a swim meet.
To some distressing degree, information technology just comes with the territory. Over time, pores enlarge. Accumulated sunday damage, other environmental factors and the natural crumbling process itself all weaken the support structures around them.
But Do good says in that location's hope. The new Do good The Porefessional ($28, available now at Ulta.com, and Benefit counters and stores beginning side by side month).
The lightweight, oil-free primer is designed to minimize the appearance of those behemoth pores when it'due south either worn every bit a primer beneath makeup, where it creates a smooth sail for foundation and powder, and/or applied on top of your face paint throughout the twenty-four hours, where it softens the pare with a matte finish.
The Porefessional joins That Gal equally the second primer in Benefit's permanent line, but where That Gal brightens skin with a subtle pink sheen, The Porefessional smooths peel, softening its texture.
If y'all have medium to dark pare, you're probably painfully enlightened of how some primers can leave a dreadful white bandage. The Porefessional doesn't (at least non on my NC35 skin)! Despite its low-cal tint, it appears fully translucent one time practical, and the lazy beast in me loves how easily it blends (no caking, yay!).
Oh, sensitive noses might want to brace themselves before giving it a sniff as the lemony floral fragrance comes on strong. I like it, just scents are personal, right? Y'all just never know.
The product does incorporate silicones, and then if y'all like Smashbox Photofinish Primer and/or Tarte Clean Slate, yous'll probably honey how The Porefessional feels on your skin. The Porefessional has that trademark silky, lotion-like texture you go with a lot of products that contain silicone. As a general rule, I don't mind silicones in my beauty products, but I'm not too crazy about them here — if they're what makes the production feel equally heavy as information technology does, similar in that location's a layer of something sitting on pinnacle of my pare.
Be that equally information technology may, the larger question (pun intended) is, "How well does The Porefessional pummel pores into submission?"
The Porefessional un-composite (left) and blended (right).
Well, it makes a very subtle departure on me. That'south non to say it'south undetectable, though. The Porefessional does seem to soften the expect of my pores, simply information technology doesn't completely make them disappear (drat!).
I wore information technology last weekend, hoping my BFFs (who usually detect *everything*) would comment on it and tell me how smooth my skin looked, but no one said a discussion…
That prompted me to be a little shy with the photographs for this post, likewise. I'm not commonly shy well-nigh posting pics…but I just couldn't bargain with it this time, having the unabridged net see macro pictures of my enlarged pores! — hence the lack of face shots in this post. Lamentable!
I dunno… Peradventure my pores are but Also Large and past the point of no return for The Porefessional. I have friends who adore the product, and then you may have better luck than me. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B
